Saved on your device

Your favorite team and a few display preferences (such as list or calendar view on the schedule tab) are kept in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them. They stay on your device and are not sent to us, except for the favorite teams you choose for notifications (below). Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Site analytics

We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, does not build a profile of you and does not follow you to other sites. We only see totals, such as how many people opened the standings page.

We also count where visits come from. When you open the site, it sends us the referring website (such as google.com), the page you landed on, any campaign tag in the link (for example, links from our calendar feeds and notifications are tagged "calendar" and "push"), and whether you are using the installed app. Cloudflare adds your country. Your IP address is not stored with this. A marker in your browser's session storage keeps a reload from counting twice, and it is cleared when you close the tab. The campaign tag is removed from the address bar once the page loads.

When you open a box score or a matchup preview, the site counts that too: which game, whether it was before, during or after the game, and whether you are using the installed app. It counts once per game per tab, with the same session-storage marker, and Cloudflare adds your country. Nothing identifies you.

Hosting and security

The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes each request, including your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and block abuse. Our request logs are used only to keep the site working and are deleted automatically within 7 days.

Push notifications

Only if you turn them on from the notifications page, we store:

  • the push address and encryption keys your browser's push service gives us, which let us deliver a notification to that browser and nothing else;
  • the teams you follow and the notification types you picked;
  • your delivery settings: time zone, quiet hours, live or digest; and
  • when you subscribed and when the site last saw your browser.

This contains no name, email address or account. Turning notifications off deletes it, and a subscription that hasn't been used for 12 months is deleted automatically. Your IP address is used briefly to rate-limit sign-ups and settings changes and is not saved with your subscription.

Calendar subscriptions

"Add to my calendar" gives your calendar app (Google, Apple, Outlook or another) a link to a public schedule file. Your calendar provider fetches that file from us on its own schedule. We don't know who has subscribed, and the file contains only the public game schedule.

Travel maps

The maps on the travel page and the travel card on team pages load their map images from CARTO (built on OpenStreetMap data), and only once you scroll to a map. Like any image server, CARTO receives your IP address and browser type when it sends those images. We don't send it anything else about you.

Links to other sites

Watch and Listen buttons open FloHockey and the teams' own radio broadcasts. Those services have their own privacy policies. We don't send them anything about you.

Children

The site is a general-audience hockey stats site and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
